Remember the time

A discussion tonight on 90s nostalgia and Baz Luhrmann love prompted looking up this GEM.

my sentiments exactly.

let it be known: that's not my picture. those are not my hands. i would NEVER wear that nail polish.

A/V Club interview with one of the funniest dudes alive.

The actor: Thanks to his uncanny skill at playing the naïf/genial square/normal guy, Andy Daly could go down in entertainment history as Hollywood’s go-to straight man. He’s already made a sort of career out of it, first on MADtv, and most recently as the cuckolded principal on Eastbound And Down. But anyone who’s heard Daly do comedy quickly picks up on his ace improvisational skills and willingness to go into the dark places his signature character type would find distasteful. (Check out “A Star Is Born” on Daly’s comedy CD, Nine Sweaters, where his character runs through a disturbing list of horrible things he’s done.) And perhaps that’s really the Andy Daly type: the outwardly pleasant man who harbors some sick shit underneath the surface. The A.V. Club spoke to Daly during some rare downtime in his busy summer—he just finished shooting scenes for Transformers 3, and has a regular role in the upcoming new Paul Reiser sitcom.

yes.

I believe this is what the kids would call "dope"....and it's over a year old....but still. Dope.

Q-Tip, Kanye, Consequence, and No I.D. in the studio, watching Q-Tip's "Needle Drop".

Some might be bored by this....the same some who don't want to make babies with Q-Tip.

Lloyd

I don’t want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don’t want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don’t want to do that.

More often than not

I love the end credits songs on Mad Men.

Hey every guy alive,

Good luck trying to aspire to this.

Jon Hamm, proving that drinking bottled water can be really fucking sexy.
Oh, and those pants. I want to BE those pants.

I want to see this

and it seems like I may be a little bit in love with Ben Affleck right now? Weird.

Also, Rosemarie DeWitt here's your chance to get back on my good side. Her character on US of Tara makes me want to throw my tv into the street....which is the complete opposite reaction I had to her in Rachel Getting Married, in which she was a perfect goddess.

Also, Chris Cooper. I. Love. You.

Also, Hey John Wells. Remember when I hung out in your office in 1999?
(my bff worked for him. that is all.)

awesome sauce

According to the Los Angeles Times, Meryl Streep (Mamma Mia!) and Stanley Tucci (The Lovely Bones) may be teaming up again on a project tentatively titled Mommy & Me.

It’ll be the third time Streep and Tucci have collaborated following The Devil Wears Prada and Julie & Julia.

Mommy & Me, if it happens, will be directed by Stanley Tucci, with Meryl Streep in the lead role, and none other than Tina Fey (Baby Mama) co-starring. We’re assuming that Tucci will also step in front of the camera, as he has done in his previous films as director, which began with Big Night in 1996.

Sony Pictures are currently the frontrunner to pick up the rights, with Stanley Tucci’s company Olive Productions set to produce.

No fucking way.

One of the WORST hosts in SNL history. Ever. And her reward is getting to date him?

Jon Hamm. Jon Hamm. Jon Hamm.

This is most definitely one of my favorite photos. Ever? Maybe?

Rebecca Hall and Jon Hamm are almost too good looking for their own good. They should make babies.

More pics and and interview with them (about the new Affleck movie The Town, which I am v. excited for) from the new W Magazine.

Fun fact: I really want to pull his hair.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page

embrace the 'Inception' of smart projects

They may be in a $160-million summer movie, but don't be fooled: It's the exception to the rule. The two young actors eschew celebrity for serious work.

These days, the term "young Hollywood" conjures up images of pouty, plastic starlets being chased down Robertson Boulevard by paparazzi and probation officers, but recently the soulful side of young Hollywood made an appearance at a corner deli on Franklin Avenue. "Hi Joe," Ellen Page said with a faraway smile as Joseph Gordon-Levitt gave her a hug.

Page and Gordon-Levitt are costars in Christopher Nolan's "Inception," the perception-bending heist movie that opens Friday amid high expectations and strong early reviews. Leonardo DiCaprio leads an extremely deep cast — there are seven Oscar nominees in the film — but Nolan says that Page and Gordon-Levitt more than held their own. "They were simply outstanding," the director said, "their performances are key to the film and some of the best work I've seen."

Save Party Down!

Or at least join the Facebook group that will try to save it, and let people know you love TV a little too much like I do.

Let's be honest though, can this group garner the same support as Betty White/SNL?
No. It can't. But let's try anyway. Way to stay positive, us!

Trent Reznor

scoring a David Fincher movie would fall under the categories "fitting" and "cool" and perhaps "why didn't this happen before?"

this is yesterdays news but here's the story @ Pitchfork

Fun fact: Trent Reznor sat behind me in the Dome when I saw the Dawn of the Dead remake. He ate popcorn and smiled at all of the people who silently acknowledged him.
Also, he's hot.

Comedy Half Hour

This continues to be one of my favorite things of all time and I quote it on a regular basis. Regularly.

Find the rest on youtube or if you're lucky Home Box Office might rerun it soon. Or not. They don't usually repeat things.
