remember how it's the 25th anniversary of 'Thriller'? (you should remember because i talked about it in December.)

well, the LA Times printed some fun facts about the album. get educated.

some hightlights:

The song "Thriller" was originally titled "Starlight."

Real gang members were brought it to be extras in the "Beat It" video.

Jackie Moon for Old Spice.

Will Ferrell's character from Semi Pro is doing commercials for Old Spice. If this was anyone else I'd hate it.

things i love right now

~ paramount vantage is on board with the milkshake thing! they are sending actual milkshakes to press and studio people. i want one!

~Marion Cotillard and DDL won best actor & actress at the BAFTAs last night. As it should be. I hope his Oscar speech is as good as that one was. And love his new haircut.

~also in BAFTA news: Diablo Cody won (yay!) and her date for the night? Edgar Wright! Love it.
~surprise, my new favorite book is called "Fuck this book". Not sure how I haven't seen this before since it came out in '05, but better now than never.
~and finally, this is kind of old news but Vanity Fair did some cool shit for their annual Hollywood issue. new timey actors in scenes from old timey Hitchcock films.

not surprisingly, this one is my favorite:
