I'm super on-board with the anti-IMAX theater war that has been made public by Aziz Ansari.
I too fell victim when I went to see Star Trek.
Please read his rant. It's great.
And then read his Twitter page- everyone has shit to say about IMAX. Mostly that we all want our 5 bucks back.
