this is sad! Harp Magazine is shutting down!

i'd like to thank them for all the good times. good times like in February when they told me about the Dino 5.

And yes, I'm talking about the cheesetastic TV series from 2002.
Bill, you can stop reading this, and please don't lower your opinion of me.

I just got kind of excited because I saw that the series is being released on DVD in July.
Say what you will but there were some good things about this show. For Reelz.
It had great music and it never took itself too seriously.

But the thing that has stayed with me for all these years (i'm creepy) was a scene from the pilot. Absolutely, without a doubt the hottest sex scene on television ever. Hotter than a lotta movies too.

It kind of borrows the before/after/during sex scene editing style done by brilliant film editor Anne Coates in Out of Sight and Unfaithful that i loooove so much. I've never ever been able to listen to "Dream On" by Depeche Mode the same.

p.s. it's only necessary to watch the first 3 minutes of this video.

Russell Brand as Aldous Snow is quite the scene stealer in FSM, and apparently was at the press junket too. I'm glad he's finally getting some attention in the US. So many people have no idea who he is. I do though. Because I am cooler than you.

Arcadia

i was just reading about my city on wikipedia and saw some randomness:

In a motel located in Arcadia across the street from Santa Anita Racetrack, author Hunter S. Thompson wrote much of his novel, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas in the 1970s.

also:

A scene in Mission Impossible III where Tom Cruise is seen running into a hospital is shot at the Arcadia Methodist Hospital (inside the hospital and in the parking lot).

The parking lot of the Santa Anita Fashion Park mall and the Santa Anita Park Racetrack was also the home of Wally World from National Lampoon's Vacation. The entrance to the park and the long shot of the parking lot were filmed there.
