The Sheats/Goldstein Residence
Ignore this awful music and dig it. When I toured this house it was maybe on of my favorite days ever? Whaaaaaa?

i want to go to Wayne's house
.jpg)
Last month, the internet noticed that you could see Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne taking a bath outside his Oklahoma City house on Google Street View. As it turns out, that particular burst of random weirdness had nothing on the inside of the house. In fact, Coyne's house looks something like the future-- the way the people who drew the covers of 1950s sci-fi paperbacks would've imagined it.

LED

The YAS Hotel in Abu Dhabi was recently completed, and its curvilinear grid-shell which is covered with over 5,300 diamond-shaped steel panels, containing nearly 5000 LED fixtures is being announced as the world’s largest LED project controlled through RDM (Remote Device Management).
sadly i will never get to see this fantastic hotel in real life since i have no plans to visit Abu Dhabi. Ever.
I say build one of these bad boys in Vegas where it clearly belongs.

lautner
the hammer museum had an exhibit that ended yesterday about one of my favorite architects John Lautner.
tickets to tour the above Sheats/Goldstein house sold out weeks ago much to my disappointment.
as we arrived at the museum there were signs on the doors that read "limited tickets available for the Sheats/Goldstein house tour." my heart lept. i was going to Jackie Treehorn's house.
sadly, my mother the extreme photographer nor i had a camera. the above photos were taken with my blackberry.
no words can describe how awesome the experience of being there was.

Julius Shulman

Here's the link to the LA Film Fest site where I am going right now to buy my ticket.
You can watch the trailer there too, it's kind of beautiful. I'm not even pms-ing and i maybe got a little misty-eyed.
Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world I feel like I can't take it, like my heart's going to cave in. ~ Ricky Fitts
