i have such a FIERCE love/hate thing happening with twitter...on a daily basis i find myself wondering what will be next to come along and steal the its' thunder.
and just when i wish twitter would go away forever i see things that make me laugh like this:
Kings of Leon is the musical equivalent of that dude who used to give all the pretty girls backrubs in high school.
-Daniel Chun
http://twitter.com/cijl
Twittering from base of huge waterfall in CO. Alright nature, we get it, you're pretty. Nobody likes a show off!
-Rob Huebel
http://twitter.com/robhuebel
I'm not sure I like when billboards say "From the Guys who brought you..." What am I, going to a barbeque? Don't be so informal with me,
-Mindy Kaling
http://twitter.com/Mindykaling
or things like this, that are just rad and informative:

historicalness
check out this fantastical website SHORPY.
it's filled with old-timey pictures from back in the good ol' days when pants cost 75¢ or whatever.
here's a picture of a traffic cop in the year 1918, the year my grandmother was born and today happens to be her birthday...
super interesting and sometimes beautiful to look at, but also a major time suck.
get your history on.
(nice sentence, me)

wait what?
in "holy crap that is good reason not to kill myself" news:
SPIKE JONZE and DAVID CROSS SHOT A BRITISH TV COMEDY PILOT TO AIR IN DECEMBER
Here's your odd and unexpected news of the day. "Where The Wild Things Are" director Spike Jonze and comedian/actor David Cross have evidently teamed-up to create a comedy for British television. Here's the other weird part. Jonze, who hasn't starred in a acting role since his excellent turn in "Three Kings," will actually star in this as well alongside Cross.
The upcoming series is apparent a culture-clash sitcom which is titled, "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret," and Jonze will play a U.S executive who’s mistakenly sent to Britain to run the company’s UK division and finds himself in over his head.
The show was written by David Cross and Shaun Pye, an English actor, comedian, writer, critic, who's known for a reoccurring role on Ricky Gervais' "Extras." Cross' "Arrested Development" buddy Will Arnett will co-star as well.
Wait, is this partial b.s or total b.s.? Neither, it's golden truth. The report has been making the rounds in the U.K. and Cross himself confirmed it to the L.A. Times a week ago.
"I shot a pilot for Channel 4. And it'll air, I believe, in December. When we picture-lock on Friday, it will be almost two years to the day that I was first approached by those guys. The cast is a crazy dream team. ["The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret" costars Will Arnett and Spike Jonze.]"
Man, we need to see this. When it airs in the U.K. at Xmas, someone put that shit online. Will there be more episodes? Intel is not available at the moment, but let's hope so.

seriously PETA?
Dude.
PETA is upset that Obama killed a fly.
Honestly. What's next? Trying to ban Raid? Pro-roach rally?
The group has sent Obama a device that traps a fly so it can then be released outside.
"We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals," PETA spokesman Bruce Freidrich explained.
Dear Mr. President,
Please keep being awesome and throw that trap away.
Dear PETA,
Just stop.

Fallon Love
I know I'm pretty alone here but I love Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
The episode last week with Will Ferrell and Mos Def was some of the funniest stuff I've seen on television in a looooong time. For reals.
Go here to watch it. You have until July 3rd.
It's worth watching just to see what song The Roots will play as a guest takes the stage.
For Will it was Don't Fear the Reaper with Mos Def on cowbell and a couple nights ago it was Beck's Loser when Heidi and Spencer came out. Genius.
