Gap ads, better than Gap clothes

One of my favorite famous couples is starring in the Gap holiday ad campaign. My boyfriend John Krasinski is going to be featured in the campaign as well. That will be my desktop wallpaper for most of December, guaranteed.

(that picture almost makes me cry tears of joy)

stop toying with us JJ!

apparently we will finally get a new 1-18-08 trailer before Beowulf when it comes out November 16th.

a few questions:
a) do we care anymore? seriously. 1-18-08 is in january. a little over 2 months away and we still don't have a fucking title.

b) is anyone going to see Beowulf? really?

My So-Called (DVD) Life

tuesday is glorious new CD/DVD day!

the only thing i am giving a crap about this week is the My So-Called Life DVD box set. this show. oh, this magical show. it met an untimely death at 19 episodes (one more than my beloved Freaks & Geeks). In the last episode Brian (the nerd in love with Claire Danes if you are not familiar) gets asked by sexy & mysterious (mysterious being a total jackass) Jordan Catalano (poor Jared Leto, what happened to him?) to compose a love letter for Angela. the kicker is brian is the one in love with Angela! crazy misunderstandings!

ok. this letter. this is one of the best letters in the history of all letters. ever. holy mother of god.
this letter still makes me cry when i hear the voice over on the show. it is super intense. way too intense for high school. check this shit out:

Dear Angela,
I know in the past I've caused you pain, and I'm sorry. And I'll always be sorry, 'til the day I die. And I hate this pen I'm holding, because I should be holding you. I hate this paper under my hand, because it isn't you. I even hate this letter, because it's not the whole truth. Because the whole truth is...so much more than a letter can even say. If you wanna hate me, go ahead. If you wanna burn this letter, do it. You could burn the whole world down. You could tell me to go to hell -- I'd go, if you wanted me to. And I'd send you a letter from there.

Sincerely,
Jordan Catalano

Oh yeah, a fancy-times Twin Peaks box set is coming out today too. With the pilot episode and everything. I've never seen this show (yet), but the word around the campfire is that it's good and i've been told i'd love it.

Get your ass over to amazon.com and shop.

Juno wins Rome Film Fest!

This movie is creepily (i'm the creep here people) becoming my new Superbad. I am getting more and more excited about it by the day.

It just won the top prize at the Rome Film Festival and I'm sure there will be more wins in the future. I fear that I am sounding like a jackass since I haven't even seen the damn movie. But I'm going to a screening next week! Yay! And Michael Cera is in it. I miss Arrested Developement.

Kudos to Fox Searchlight for their sexy and informative movie sites:

one of the best movies of the year that i actually have seen, Once:
Darjeeling has a great one too.

Takashi Murakami

The new Takashi Murakami exhibit is opening today at MOCA. It runs until February 11, so there's plenty of time to check out the kick-assedness. (not a word, i know)

That pic up there is from Kanye West's "Graduation" album. Kanye asked him to do all the artwork. This is not why Murakami is awesome. And not because he paired with Marc Jacobs to design some Louis Vuitton bags a few years ago. ( i am not into the Louis Vuitton print anyway. "Look at me! Look how much money I have!"(jealous much Nicole?) or worse "Look at how great this knock-off is! No one can tell it's a fake!" Guess what, we can.)

Anyhoo-Murakami. Pretty and colorful to the eyes! And there's a special preview of one of his new animated movies! 20,000 square feet of museum goodness!

The Office. Kind of Brilliant.

last night's episode was one of the best. Ever.

here's why:

it was written by B.J. Novak. Also wrote some of the best episodes like Diversity Day,
Sexual Harassment and The Fight. I like his new beardy, bossy Ryan Howard too.

it was directed by Jason Reitman. yeah, the same one that directed Thank You For Smoking and Juno.

Ed Helms. oh wonderful Ed Helms. His dorky Andy trying to remember the Kit Kat ad jingle was the best running gag the show has seen in a while.
negatives about the show: no pam/jim canoodling like last week. not enough kelly kapour. too much sad dwight, i miss mean dwight.

so i will watch the episode repeatedly over the weekend and be sad that i'm not in scranton, PA for the office convention that is taking place this weekend.

Janeane Garofalo flame rekindled.

I've had a non-sexual girl crush on her since 1993. The Ben Stiller Show started it. Then came Vickie Miner in Reality Bites. (I'm also in love with that entire movie, but that's a whole seperate post) And her characters in Bye Bye Love and in Romy & Michelle's HS Reunion....and her in general in Cats & Dogs...so much cuter than Uma. Ridiculous.

(I just realized how much I ramble and and apparently love to use parenthesis)

OMG and let's never ever forget her HBO comedy half-hour from 1995. I have i memorized and it's awesome. But I digress, and I hate that phrase.

Last night I saw Janeane at the UCBT. I haven't seen her perform in SO long. She walked by my friends and I during the Frames at Bumbershoot and I pee peed a little.

Anyway, she was really really great. Laughs, cynicism (yay! i think i got some of mine from her) and pictures of puppies. Also, when I was in line to pee (i said pee again) she walked right in front of me and the woman is so tiny you could quickly glance and think she's a 12 year old, with tattoos.

Anyway, bravo Janeane. You might make me start watching 24 again.

New castmastes Janeane and Mary Lynn Rajskub will be at the UCBT on November 3rd. Sweeeeet.

I tried to youtube her HBO thingy but all I got were political rants.

Why doesn't HBO sell these?

Seriously? WTF?

so Gretchen Mol and her husband had a baby.
here's the announcement:

Actress Gretchen Mol and her husband, director Tod Williams, have announced that on Sept. 10, their new son was born. The couple's new son is named Ptolemy John Williams, PEOPLE is reporting.

um. ok. where do i start with this?
1) born september 10th? and we are just now hearing about it? i know some celebs want privacy and stuff, but that was over a month ago. i would much rather have read about that than whatever shit britney was getting into at the time. why so secretive gretch?

2) gretchen mol was supposed to be the next big thang like 9 years ago. what happened? maybe it's because she's boring. that was mean, but she bored me in 3:10 to yuma.

3) and finally. ptolemy. their son's name is ptolemy. after the greek dude that lived in 83 AD. AD people! that was a long time ago. i really hope her husband is greek at least. but still. ptolemy. that poor poor child. i pity that child more then i pity pilot inspecktor lee. at least that's a fun and random name and your dad is jason lee.

Superbad. DVD-style. And Pineapple Express.

i'm gonna wear the crap out of my dvd player on decemeber 4th because that's when Superbad is coming out.
dude, i seriously saw this movie 5 times in the theater. 5 times! what a psycho.
and knowing those apatow people ( not in the biblical sense unfortunately, just in the fan sense) the dvd extras will be very laughter inducing.

and speaking of the apatow boys, i already saw Pineapple Express and it rules. James Franco owns that movie. just wait, you'll see. as of right now the release date is 8/8/08. that's really far away. hopefully they'll move it up.

this is a set visit they did on comingsoon.net
SPOILER ALERT!
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=20647

Good, not really surprising news.

Pushing Daisies has been picked up for a full season.

Yay!

I am in love with this show. So much cuteness.

My First Post

I'm going to keep this one short and start it off by saying that the whole point of this is for me to post shit that I am excited about.

I work here http://www.reelzchannel.com/ and I like to consider myself somewhat "on top of it" or "in the know" about movies.
I, like the channel I work for, am "all about movies 24-7". Except when I am all about music, comedy and television.

Here are some of the upcoming movies that I am really crazy excited about.

1) Be Kind Rewind (1/25/08)
You guys, I am obsessed with Michel Gondry. I love JB. Mos Def rules. I could ramble and profess love all over the place, all day long.
http://www.bekindmovie.com/

2) Juno (12/14/07)
I've heard people be all "this years' Little Miss Sunshine", just cuz it's small and indie.
The 4 leads are wonderful and i am currently developing a fierce girl-crush on Cody Diablo who wrote the script. Jason Reitman directed it. Hi. He directed Thank You For Smoking. Please Netflix that one if you haven't yet. It's good.
http://www.foxsearchlight.com/juno/

3) There Will Be Blood (12/26/07)
Paul Thomas Anderson people. Paul Fucking Thomas Anderson. A God.
oh yeah, Jonny Greenwood is scoring. Yeah, Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead.
http://www.cigarettesandredvines.com/film.php?id=OL3

4) No Country For Old Men (11/9/07 limited, 11/21/07 at a theater near your mom)
Bad-ass trailer. Could Javier Bardem be any more scary? And it's the Coen Brothers. Come On! (I just said that like Gob on Arrested Development)
http://www.nocountryforoldmen-themovie.com/

5) Margot at the Wedding
Noah Baumbach rules and I love that Jack Black is all Serious McSeriousson now. And that part in the trailer where he talks about punching someone is fucking hilarious. See pretty faces like Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Jason Leigh (Noah's wife) without makeup!
http://www.margotatthewedding.com/site/index.html

6) Semi-Pro
Will Ferrell. A Sport. What more do I need?
Back in March they did a table read (that's Hollywood talk. keep up.) for this movie downstairs from me at work. my friends and i stalk-walked by the room and saw Will, David Koechner, Woody Harrelson, Andre 3000, and Will Arnett. My eyes were all SHHHHIIIIIITTTT. My exterior did it's best to remain calm.
