i will admit that i bought and read this only after hearing that it was going to be made into a movie. and then i heard that michael cera was going to be "nick" and kat dennings is going to be "norah" and that was the icing.
it's a quick and short read, and i loved every word. there are music & tv references galore which are always fun but the one that bashed me over the head (in a good way) was the Heathers reference. i just realized that no one is going to give a shit about this but me.here's a description from the books' site:
It all starts when Nick asks Norah to be his girlfriend for five minutes. He only needs five minutes to avoid his ex-girlfriend, who’s just walked in to his band’s show. With a new guy. that sounds like a cheese-filled teeny bopper wannabe soap opera.
maybe it is, but i don't care.
one super-fun thing about the book (spoiler alert sorta) is that each chapter is told from the POV of Nick and Norah.
it goes:
chapter 1. nick
chapter 2. norah
.....etcetera....
so that was kind of cool.
